Have your say and get involved

There are a number of ways you can have your say about council services and decisions. Getting involved by either taking the time to respond when we consult or just giving general feedback makes sure the services we provide continue to take account of your priorities and needs.

    Youth Council

The Welwyn Hatfield Youth Council is a body of young people that meet monthly to discuss, debate and action any issues effecting the youth of Welwyn Hatfield.

  • Getting involved in council decisions

Council meetings are open to the public to attend. You are welcome to present petitions and questions (submitted in advance) to some of the council's committees.

  • Contacting your local councillor

Your local councillors are elected to represent your interests. They agree the policies that determine how our services are run and how much should be spent on our services. You can either discuss an issue or concern with them at a local surgery or by calling, emailing or writing to them.

  • Have your say on planning applications

You can comment on or object to any planning application, whether it directly affects you or not, even if you haven't received a letter notifying you of the application.

  • Parking restriction consultations

Making the best use of available parking space in the borough is a priority for us. This could be through the introduction of yellow lines, parking bays and permit schemes. Before implementing any restriction or change to a parking order we consult with the residents or businesses concerned.
